Technical survey of the territories — when it is important to know exactly

After a non-technical survey identifies potentially hazardous areas, the next step is a technical survey of the territory. This is no longer just an analysis and inspection - it is a physical survey of the area using special equipment that allows you to accurately detect explosive ordnance underground.

Deminex conducts technical surveys in accordance with international IMAS standards, with the involvement of qualified deminers and modern technologies. This is the stage where it becomes clear what kind of danger is hidden under your feet.

What is the essence of a technical survey?

The purpose of the technical survey is to confirm or deny the presence of UXOs on the territory, as well as to determine their exact location. Sappers, technicians, and equipment operators are involved. This is physical work on the ground.

How does the technical survey go?

The work is carried out carefully and in stages:
1. Specialists are divided into groups and divide the site into survey lanes.
2. Each square meter of land is examined with the help of instruments.
3. All suspicious signals are recorded, and a manual check is carried out.
4. If an UXO is detected, the area is marked and the object is prepared for removal or neutralization.
5. The results are recorded in a report with geo-referencing, photo and video recording.

What objects are subject to technical inspection?

- Areas where construction or reconstruction is planned
- Agricultural land before sowing
- Forests, roads, parks, private plots
- Areas that have been under fire, occupation or active hostilities

Why is it so important?

Sometimes, even a small piece of landmine that remains in the ground can pose a deadly threat. A technical survey allows us to know for sure whether there is a danger rather than guessing. And this knowledge saves lives and allows you to confidently start new construction, land cultivation, and launch infrastructure facilities.

Why should you entrust this to Deminex?
- We have certified sappers with experience in the most difficult areas
- Our equipment is modern, sensitive, and tested in combat conditions
- All actions are carried out in compliance with the safety of people, property and the environment
- Upon completion, you receive an official report that can be used for further legal or technical decisions

What do you get after a technical survey?
- A complete map of the surveyed area
- Photo report with a description of dangerous findings (if any)
- Conclusion on the condition of the territory: clean, requires demining, or no threats were found
- Recommendations for further action (e.g., possibility of construction or need for cleanup)

ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How does a technical inspection differ from a non-technical inspection?

A non-technical survey is a preliminary analysis without equipment. A technical survey is an actual survey of the land using equipment to detect ERW.

  • Is it possible to avoid a technical inspection?

No, if there is a possibility of contamination of the territory, this is a mandatory step before demining or restoration work.

  • How long does it take?

It depends on the size of the plot and the type of soil. An average plot takes 1-3 days, larger areas take longer.

  • What happens if a mine or shell is found?

We mark the location, notify the relevant services, and, if necessary, safely remove or neutralize it.

  • How much does it cost?

The estimate is formed individually, taking into account the area, type of terrain, logistics and scope of work.
